Heidi has been involved with gardens her whole life. Grandmother and mother instilled magical memories of gardens: botany, the names of plants, and the “habit” of plants. It was natural to make a career of landscaping. And it has meshed perfectly with her work as an artist.
Listening to clients needs and visions is one of her favorite aspects of designing landscapes. That and overcoming some of the “odds” to restore a view, install hardscape, a cutting garden, designing structures, or creating perennial beds and borders. At the end of a project, when the homeowners are enjoying their natural spaces, she is satisfied in having made a vision become a reality.
Projects this year have included moving some very old lion statues, previously residing at AW Pottery in Seattle, to a clients home. This involved a forklift, skilled operator, and poured pads. The lions were placed and they now reside in a beautiful landscape.
