Inspiration for Heidi comes from the natural world: the evolving seasons, botany, a dried leaf, a skeletonized hydrangea blossom, a perfect rose bud, the rhythm of rain, oceanic wind and waves, and the sun’s “oyster light” reflected off of the Puget Sound.
All of these coalesce to inspire her to create with clay and express the beauty and mysteries which are natural, and and infinite and “yes”.
Heidi loves the poetry of E.E.Cummings, the writing of Jean Houston, and the memories of Lawrence Ferlinghetti reading in San Francisco night clubs.
